Food Bank

Relying on the generosity of volunteers and donations from our parishioners, the St. James Food Bank responds to requests for assistance from people of all religious denominations living within our parish boundaries by providing food hampers on an emergency basis. The St. James Food Bank serves those living in the communities of Altadore, Currie Barracks,  Garrison Woods, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Mount Royal College, North Glenmore Park, Richmond Park.

For more information about the St. James Food Bank or to request a hamper, the Food Bank can be accessed at anytime by calling 403-243-2680 and pressing 3 for the food bank voice mail. When leaving a message please speak clearly stating your name, address and telephone number, and a volunteer will return your call to determine your needs, and provide you with a date and time to pick up your food hamper.

Food hampers are available for pick up on the second, third and fourth Thursdays of each month from February through November, and all requests must be received no later than 5:00 pm on the Tuesday prior.  There is no Food Hamper Distribution during the month of January.   Christmas Hampers replace our Food Bank Hampers in December.

CHRISTMAS HAMPER REQUESTS ARE NOW BEING TAKEN.  DEADLINE FOR REQUESTS IS NOVEMBER 29.  LEAVE YOUR INFORMATION ON OUR FOOD BANK EXTENSION (3).  ALL RECIPIENTS MUST LIVE WITHIN OUR PARISH BOUNDARY.  DELIVERY WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 4-6PM ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19.  PLEASE ENSURE THAT SOMEONE IS HOME TO RECEIVE IT.
