Requests for Christmas Hampers are now being taken. Recipients must reside within our parish boundaries. Information can be left on our Food Bank line. Deadline for requests is Friday, December 5. Delivery will take place on Thursday, December 18 from 1pm-3pm. Someone must be home to accept the hamper. If this is not possible, please contact the parish office to make other arrangements.
Relying on the generosity of volunteers and donations from our parishioners, the St. James Food Bank responds to requests for assistance from people of all religious denominations living within our parish boundaries by providing food hampers. The St. James Food Bank serves those living in the communities of Altadore, Currie Barracks, Garrison Green, Garrison Woods, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Mount Royal University, North Glenmore Park, and Richmond Park.
For more information about the St. James Food Bank or to request a hamper, the Food Bank can be accessed at anytime by calling 403-243-2680 and selecting extension 3 for the Food Bank . When leaving a message, please speak clearly stating your name, address and telephone number. A volunteer will return your call to determine your needs and eligibility, as well as to provide you with a date and time to pick up your food hamper.
Food hampers are available for pick up every Thursday from February through November. All requests must be received by phone no later than 5:00pm on the Tuesday prior. Christmas Hampers replace our Food Bank hampers in December. There is no Food Bank service in January.
